Rodents

Rodents are perhaps the most commonly utilized animal type in pre-clinical testing. Both rats and mice have been used in a massive range of biomedical studies, with the common brown rat (Rattus norvegicus) and house mouse (Mus musculus) being the overridingly most common species in trial scenarios. The availability, short life cycle and ubiquitousness of rodents has contributed to their widespread use.
